Arrival is a sci-fi movie about ETs visiting us. Nothing new, expect when its message is more important than all CGI effects.

The movie tells a story of a translator trying to learn the alien language when twelve ships arrive on Earth. She was successful in her mission but the revelation is scarily deep, psychologically speaking.

Warning: From this point, some important facts about the movie will be revelead

Beautiful as you should expect

A beautiful footage in a movie is so important that most people don’t realise.

That’s good, that means the work was well done. Arrival is beautiful, the ship, all changes of gravity, the perspectives, the family scenes are incredible, beautiful, subtle and emotional.

The music, special the one in the open scene was great. Composed by Max Richter, “On the Nature of Daylight” should prepare us for what is coming.

The story, surprising!

When the ships arrived on Earth, in twelve different places, humans were scared and hired the best translators to try to communicate with them but things didn’t go well. Chineses tried to blast the ship with bombs but everything changed when the translator in the USA solve the mystery.

The alien language gave the ability to see the past, the present and the future. The challenge was, if you know everything about your life, from the beginning to the end, would you change something?

The verdict

Arrival worth your time to watch. It’s fascinating, sometimes confuse but in the end, all the pieces get together to make sense. I find it quite mesmerising to watch and I think you would love it.

Be nice with me, this is an english training exercise. All comments are welcome!
