It is rumored that Apple is working on a VR headset filled with cameras and features that could set back $3,000 for consumers. The gadget could introduce a dozen tracking cameras and a LiDAR system to improve the VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) capabilities of the headset in 2022. A report by Bloomberg suggests that a special chipset would be designed by Apple to power this device.

This is according to internal documents and images cited in a report by The Information, describing a headset with a “sleek, curved visor attached to the face by a mesh material and swappable headbands.”

The new mixed-reality device is described by Apple employees as a headset for virtual reality with augmented reality on top. It is reportedly possible to play games with real-world objects using Apple’s in-development headset, due to its multiple camera array. Layered on top, as with the famous Pokémon Go game.
