A survey of US consumers concludes that iPhones 8 and 8 Plus are sold more than the iPhone X itself

Each new data that transcends seems to confirm the news that Apple strives to avoid: the iPhone X performs well below the internal and external expectations that had with respect to the most complete and innovative mobile that circulates in the market.

This week, a survey by the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners firm concluded that their younger siblings (the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus) are more successful than the iPhone X itself.

The fieldwork focused on consumers in the US market who bought Apple products and revealed that the iPhone 8 represented 23% of mobile sales in the first quarter of 2018.

New iPhones accounted for 70% of Apple’s mobile sales in 2017; now they do not exceed 60%

The iPhone 8 Plus ranked second, with 21%, and the iPhone X was relegated to the third, with 16%. The oldest models, and therefore the most affordable, make up 40% of Apple’s mobile sales.

A comparison of the results of the same survey in the first quarter of 2017 and 2018 indicates that a year ago, when the company promoted the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the then brand new models accounted for almost 70% of sales.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said in early February that the iPhone X was the best-selling product of the company since November 2017, but globally.

Rumors that the phone has not run with the expected luck have not stopped since its launch, and the answer will not be known until May 1, when Apple presents its results for the first quarter of 2018.
