Did you know that 33% of people between 18 and 25 suffer from a panic attack?

In 2017, 284 million, 3.8% of the global population experimented anxiety disorder.

In Italy, 10 million people experienced a panic attack at least once. And the number is increasing rapidly. Women are the ones who suffer the most. In all cases, they compromise the normal daily life of those who suffer from it.

Panic Anxiety Disorder (DAP) is a psychopathological syndrome characterized by repeated episodes of acute anxiety. Among the anxiety disorders it is the one that manifests itself most physically.

The panic attack disorder is strongly linked to anxiety, a primordial emotion, and, therefore, very powerful. It has no positive or negative meaning: it is simply a warning.

The daily routine puts a strain on the body and mind that creates imbalances that can occur in panic attacks. Panic attacks can be sporadic or can become a real disease.

How can we control the panic attack?

Well, we thought of a way: TosKe.

Researches demonstrate that after the first panic attack is it possible to recognize and prevent future attacks, usually from 2 to 5 minutes before. It is also proven that the people affected by the panic attacks can control and overcome them focusing on simple activities that involve the five senses.

TosKe is an Apple Watch app that aims to support people who suffer from panic attacks to control and overcome them. TosKe isn’t a medical app, but an app that supports user as if it was a friend.

The app consist of a path of three simple activities that keep busy the user and let him focus on something else in order to overcome the attack.

  • The first activity is Breath. Control the panic attack starts from controlling the breathing. A recorded voice will guide the user in breathing with the method 4–7–8, know as a method that helps the relaxing process.
  • The second activity is Focus. This second activity helps the user to focus on a simple activity in order to get distracted. The user has to tap on the circles as many times as the number written in the middle. Concentrate on it will help the body to relax.
  • The third activity is Shine. The third activity is designed to let relax the mind.

The path lasts less than 5 minutes. At the end of each activity, the user can choose if he wants to continue in the next activity or repeat it.

It is proven that hear someone talking while having a panic attack can help a lot to not feel alone and can calm down the attack. That’s why during all the path a recorder voice with relaxing music will guide the user.

All the app is designed with 2 main color purple that contrasts the panic attack and blue that is a relaxing color.

All the people feel different symptoms, for this reason, we decide to not let the app reach the user but let the user reach the app when he needs to. Through a complication, the user can reach the app in the easiest and fastest way.

Don’t make panic attacks change your days, overcome your fear with TosKe.
