iPhone 16 Pro — World’s Thinnest Bezels Leaked
The iPhone 16’s release date is approaching, as leaks about its appearance and functionality continue to emerge. According to the newest reports from 9to5Mac, the iPhone 16 Pro would boast the world’s smallest bezels, outperforming even its primary competition, Samsung.
A More Compact Design and Larger Screen
At first impression, the iPhone 16 Pro will resemble its predecessor, but with one key difference: the corners around the screen will be substantially smaller.
This will enable for greater use of the device’s front space, increasing the useful screen surface without the need to increase the phone’s size.
Goodbye to Notches: Under-Screen Face Identification in the Future
While the Dynamic Island notch is still present on this year’s model, sources indicate that it may be removed totally by 2025.
Apple is apparently working on embedding Face ID beneath the screen, allowing for a more futuristic design with no components disturbing the view.
The thinnest bezels on the market
According to reports, the iPhone 16 Pro’s bezel thickness would be less than 2 millimeters, surpassing Samsung’s Galaxy S24, which currently has the market’s narrowest bezels.
How is Apple achieving this?
The iPhone 16 Pro has smaller bezels thanks to Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. However, this approach has created significant production issues, as it necessitates bending electrical components toward the border of the screen.
Presentation and Availability
The next iPhone 16 is scheduled to be launched in September 2024, as tradition dictates.
Rumors say that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have larger screens than their predecessors.
The standard Pro model is believed to sport a 6.3-inch screen (up from 6.1 inches), while the Pro Max will be 6.9 inches, the largest screen yet seen on an iPhone.
