IDT400x Week 4 Assignment: Build an online scorecard used to evaluate the instructional design of eLearning courses.

This scorecard is derived from my Online Course Evaluation Rubric and can be used to evaluate the quality of online courses as determined by scoring elements of the course on a scale of 0–3 points. You can determine what score each element needs to receive for a course to be successful, but it is recommended that any element given a score of 0 (needs improvement) is revised to receive at least a score of 1 (acceptable).

Executive Summary for Capstone Project

I will use my rubric to evaluate my own Mindfulness course that I am creating for my Capstone project because I like that the rubric clearly defines the good and acceptable levels, where the scorecard really only defines the excellent level. While the excellent level is good to be aware of, meeting it isn’t always necessary for every element of every online course and can be time-consuming and costly to do so. Depending on the nature of the content and the intended audience, courses can still be meaningful if only some elements are excellent and others are good or acceptable.
