THE APPLOI INTERVIEW: Marcin Malyszko Joins Apploi

Marcin Malyszko joined Apploi this month as a Senior Enterprise Account Executive. As he settles into his new position, we talked to him about his extensive background in recruiting and HR and his roles at companies like ZipRecruiter, Doximity and CareerArc. He’s already had quite a remarkable career and we’re excited to welcome him aboard the Apploi rocketship.

Q: Marcin, welcome to Apploi! Can you tell us a bit about your background?

Marcin: Thank you very much, I am very grateful & excited to join Apploi on this journey! My background before SaaS sales was in private banking, but in the last six years I have spent my time in HR Tech, primarily focusing within the healthcare sector. I’ve had the pleasure of working with amazing individuals at some of the fastest growing SaaS companies.

Q: Early on, you took a chance and moved to California. Sounds like an adventure!

Marcin: Yes — it really was an adventure and quite the leap of faith! Before the move, I was working in private banking and came to Santa Monica, California for vacation. I immediately fell in love with the weather, vibes and atmosphere of Southern California. I couldn’t believe that people actually lived and worked in such a beautiful place. Five weeks after returning to Chicago from my vacation, I signed a lease for an apartment that I never even saw in person and completely switched careers. It was the best choice I’ve made thus far in my life and I think it was fate. I am now married to an amazing woman (whom I met in Santa Monica) and we have our first baby on the way.

Q: Hiring is hard. In what ways does Apploi make it that much easier?

Marcin: After working with thousands of clients, I believe the one most critical thing for success is the candidate experience. Apploi streamlines the process and makes it extremely easy for applicants to apply to a position with one click; as opposed to having to register for an account prior to the application, which results in low conversion, poor candidate experience, and a loss of qualified candidates. On the recruiter side it’s designed to effectively communicate with your pool of applicants by text/video and onboard — all in one platform — to increase efficiency and decrease time to hire.

Q: Can you tell us about some of your short-term goals at Apploi this year? What are you most excited about?

Marcin: In the short term, I look forward to helping many prospects become customers by solving their hiring challenges with Apploi. I am most excited to learn from and receive customer feedback as well as working alongside the executive team to continue improving our world class platform and being part of the long-term vision.

Q: You have supported customers the last six years in the HR/Recruitment space, what are some of the ways you have helped our recruiters to improve their hiring?

Marcin: I have been able to help recruiters improve their hiring process by being a consultant and a true partner. I take the time to actually listen, ask questions, and learn about my customers, so I am then able to tailor recommendations, insights, and strategy that directly benefits them and their needs.

Q: What’s the best job you’ve ever had? Aside from this one :)

Marcin: ZipRecruiter allowed me to get into this wonderful space of HR Tech. I had an incredible opportunity to work very closely with the SVP of Sales, Kevin Gaither (Inside Sales Godfather), a dear friend that became a mentor both personally and professionally.

Q: Is there anything I haven’t asked that you’d like to discuss?

Marcin: What we are doing at Apploi is very special so if you’re hiring for healthcare professionals, it’s absolutely worth an introductory call.
