One Year of App’n’roll — App’n’roll blog
It has been a year since we restarted App’n’roll.
Twelve months later, there are so many great things we want to share with you! We promised that we would help build scalable businesses and bootstrap our own products and today we’re confident that we’ve delivered.
A short summary of the last few months:
It took us four months to recreate a team of the same size as the previous one (6x faster than before!). These people are the core of all that we do and they are the reason we are successful. If we could name the one single thing that makes us proud and willing to wake up every day, it is the team we have a chance to work with.
We opened a very cool office in Mokotów:
Not only is our office in an amazing location, it’s also within walking distance from Metro Racławicka. There are parking spots without parking meters, or underground slots which are incredibly useful (for those of us who drive).
There’s even a free gym, jacuzzi and sauna without even leaving the building. Of course we also have excellent coffee, a PlayStation 4, Netflix and a 200"+ screen!
We organized the first App’n’roll Team Retreat:
We spent a week at Wiśniówka, a traditional house in Rajcza village, surrounded by the breathtaking Beskid Mountains. There were thirteen of us, plus Argo the Chief Happiness Officer. Stepping back from the company atmosphere and environment can be beneficial for everyone. It’s especially important for companies with remote teams as it means we’re able to come together with those of us who don’t work in the office on a daily basis.
We’re working on five new products at the moment:
This is the most exciting part, we are currently working on a very broad portfolio of our own, bootstrapped products including:
- Social network
- B2B e-commerce
- SaaS
- Custom patented hardware
- Music streaming platform
Selected projects we worked on fuelled the development of our own products:
Zuper: A German FinTech startup that helps consumers take control of their finances. We worked closely with the team from concept stage to market launch and delivered the whole product including iOS & Android apps, backend, design and infrastructure.
Konica Minolta: We have been working directly with Konica Minolta in order to introduce additional cloud services to Multifunctional Printers (MFPs). They enable enterprise clients to use scalable business solutions which run on existing infrastructure.
HR KPI: For a German client we worked on a SaaS KPI tool for calculation, historization and visualisation. We led the scoping workshop to define the Minimum Viable Product and worked in an iterative way to launch the web app.
Tending: A Californian premier care coordination platform and concierge service for those providing care, to those who need it the most. We developed a Care Coordination Platform which involved a large body of research into the needs of caregivers. HIPAA compliant!
Survicate:
There are so many good things that we can say about this App’n’roll’s bootstrapped and later VC-funded SaaS that we honestly don’t know where to start!
Just released the biggest product update to date. Until today, Survicate was a website survey tool. It was an initial idea behind Survicate and we spent over 2 years building one of the most advanced tools on the market. But as we talked to the growing number of users, we realized that they needed more than just a website survey tool. They needed a tool which would allow them to collect feedback from their customers across all digital touchpoints.
Survicate now allows users to collect feedback with:
- Targeted website surveys
- One-click email surveys
- Email Net Promoter Score surveys
- Feedback widgets
- Questionnaires
What’s more Survicate exceeded the magic number of 100 paying customers and is growing steadily! They are currently fundraising too so expect this to grow even more.
Last words… for today.
Summing up, it was a crazy year full of excitement and great moments, shared with an awesome team.
Looking back on what we’ve managed to achieve over the past months rebuilding the whole company from scratch, we’re thrilled thinking about what we’ll be able to achieve in the upcoming months. Stay tuned!
