3 ways companies have made CSR pop
Another way of describing Corporate Social Responsibility is: changing the world using your company’s expertise and skills.
Here are three examples of how global brands & companies have engaged with CSR to use their company’s skills & expertise to positively impact the world.
- Pret a Manger: The Pret Foundation Trust
Pret a Manger created The Pret Foundation in 1995, and supports over 40 charities in UK, has donated over 3 million meals, and runs their Rising Stars initiative which helps vulnerable people off the street and back in to work. Pret activates consumers by providing dedicated products which directly fund their initiatives which are constantly available in their stores.
“The PFT has a simple goal — to alleviate poverty in the UK by helping break the cycle of homelessness.”
2. Adidas x Parley: Ocean Plastic Ultraboosts
If you’re a Adidas aficionado then you’ll have heard about, and maybe even purchased one of Adidas x Parley Ultraboost edition trainers. In a world being buried by over 8 million tons of ocean plastic per year, brands can activate to change the world. Adidas produced — in partnership with Parley — trainers made from recycled ocean plastic.
3. Corona x Parley: 100 Islands Protected by 2020
Corona have teamed up with Parley to clean 100 beaches around the world by 2020. As a global brand, activating consumers to interact with a global problem such as ocean plastic is a smart way for a company to use their skills and resources to make a meaningful impact in the world.
So….
In conclusion, CSR doesn’t have to be a tick-box-exercise — it can be an employee engagement extraveganza, and if as a company you can leverage your brands and expertise to have a profound impact on your consumers, the amount of positive change in the world is endless!
Thank you!
