Appruve goes live in Egypt 🇪🇬
At Appruve, our commitment to building infrastructure that makes it possible for customers to access all kinds of opportunities across the continent and the globe keep on deepening every single day. If a financial service anywhere in the world can verify, gain insights on African identities and thus prevent fraud, then the opportunities for farmers, drivers, engineers, doctors, nurses and writers, across the continent and globally become readily accessible.
Egypt is the latest African country to join the Appruve network, and in extension our entry into the MENA region as well.
According to UN Data, Egypt has a population of 102,796,445, with 43.0 % of the population being urban (44,041,052 people in 2020). The median age in Egypt is 24.6 years.
The Global Findex Data by the World Bank, in 2017 reported that only 33% of adults in Egypt have bank accounts. The gap between women and men who own bank accounts is 12%, while the gap between high net worth individuals and low net worth individuals is 21%.
There’s a clear opportunity for growth and improvement of financial inclusion, which Appruve is looking to catalyze.
Our entry into Egypt brings the total number of countries we are live in, to five(5), with the others being Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda. Making Appruve, one of the most extensive data verification platforms in Africa.
We are currently in the beta testing phase with financial services partners in Francophone and Southern Africa.

This wouldn’t have been possible without support from our local partners approved by the Central Bank of Egypt, investors, our superb technical and legal/compliance team.
In fact, we have invested a lot into understanding and being compliant with the myriad of data protection regulations and requirements across the markets we operate in, built local relationships and already making that know-how available to accelerate the growth of our cherished customers.
