To bring revolution in the Android world, Google has released a developer preview of Android 7.0, codenamed “N.” By following the footsteps of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Android 7.0 is completely focused on providing an enhanced user experience, updated notifications, and split-screen views. In addition, ’N’ provides some more visual elements, adds new emojis, offer smoother and smarter experience, and assures Android users that Google’s mobile platform will become vast part of their lives.

N Is for New:

Android N is aimed for a digital future, where it shall become more powerful, and as capable as a desktop OS. Currently, it is available as a developer preview and its estimated release schedule is for the third quarter of 2016. Moreover, its early users can obtain all the necessary files from the Android developer website, and can enroll their device in a program, and enjoy the beta releases over the air.

According to the early users, the latest Android version is comparatively faster and responsive, than its older versions. Though, the pre-released software comes with a huge caution that the things might not be according to the expectation, but it is not so with this version. A one change that’s getting attention of the users is folders. In this version, the folders display as a port-hole view into a tiny grid of apps, instead of the stack of preview images over a black hole, as it is in the previous versions. It’s an ingenious change, which makes the Home screen look much cleaner.

The most impressive new feature in Android N is split-screen display for apps. Though this is not for the first time an Android device has included it, but this version has enhanced the display of the Android.

N Is for Notifications:

In the Android Marshmallow, the notifications appeared as stacks of light-colored rectangles that can easily dismiss with a swipe or activated with a tap. But in the N version, with Android’s Material Design aesthetic, the notifications fill the width of the screen and present more in line. Even, the notifications will be more functional than ever. The user can respond from the notification, without exiting the app that is currently used by them. All this action will take place inside the notification pane.

Subtle Settings:

The new changes are done in the Android Settings app, in the latest N version. Similar to the All Apps views in Marshmallow, the Settings app will show suggestions at the top of the screen. In addition, if the user activated certain status-changing features like Do Not Disturb mode, it will appear on the top of the screen. Moreover, by swiping right from the left edge, a hidden tray opens through which the user can easily navigate to the rest of the Settings app.

What’s Next?:

Already, the Android users have a huge expectations with Android N. Even, Google is giving up on a leadership role for Android and focusing more on incremental updates, such as the components Google controls, components that can be updated through the app store, instead of encouraging carriers and OEMs to match up with the latest version.

Considering all the facts and latest updates, it is sure that Android has a bright future. Also, with latest Android N version, it is expected a great future in the Android App Development. A new version will bring more opportunities for developers to experiment in the app development, and development more efficient and compatible apps.
