Wrapping up AppsFlyer’s 2023 Contributions to the Developer Community
As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on a year filled with incredible momentum in our R&D brand. At AppsFlyer, we take immense pride in the achievements and contributions of our talented engineers who have passionately represented our organization at conferences, meetups, skill based volunteering initiatives, and writing opportunities.
In this wrap-up blog post, I’m proud to recognize the impact our developers made on internal and external developer communities and highlight their achievements in showcasing their personal brand, while hand and hand strengthening the AppsFlyer Engineering brand.
Conference Speaking Engagements: Our engineers shone as subject matter experts and thought leaders in the industry, with an impressive 18 speakers participating in prestigious conferences around the globe such as KubeCon, Gophercon, KubeDay and more. From discussing cutting-edge technologies to sharing best practices, our team successfully showcased AppsFlyer’s commitment to innovation and knowledge sharing.
Meetups: We hosted 11 dev and product community meetups, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge exchange. These meetups provide a platform for engineers and product professionals to dive deep into specific topics, address challenges, and forge connections within the local tech scene.
Sharing Insights through Blog Posts: Recognizing the power of the written word, our engineers crafted 11 insightful and thought-provoking blog posts. Covering a wide range of technical topics, these articles served as valuable resources for developers around the world to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices.
Tech Talks and Workshops: As part of our commitment to fostering internal knowledge sharing, cross-department collaboration, and skill acquisition, we organized a series of 8 engaging tech talks. These talks covered diverse topics such as cost reduction in services, the latest advancements in platform engineering, and more. Additionally, we facilitated 6 interactive workshops on various subjects, including tech blog writing, successful call for paper submissions, and AI-related topics. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for our engineers to share their latest developments and acquire new skills within a supportive environment.
Supporting local tech Conferences and Events: AppsFlyer’s commitment to the industry extended beyond our own engagements. We proudly sponsored 6 dev conferences such as ReactNext, Gophercon, Node.TLV, Kubernetes days HayaData and more, demonstrating our dedication to fostering and supporting our vibrant developer ecosystem and technical knowledge-sharing events.
Internal Collaboration and Innovation: At AppsFlyer, we place great importance on cultivating a strong and collaborative company culture. This commitment is exemplified through our quarterly departmental All Hands meetings and Demo Days, meant to provide a platform for transparency, team pride and alignment toward our departmental goals and our role in the greater company goals.
Hack-AI-Thon: Our CEO, Oren Kaniel, is a staunch believer in the future of AI. As quoted in this Calcalist article from May: “There won’t be any companies that won’t be affected by this. It will change all professions, including programmers and content writers. It won’t be long before AI knows how to write code better than humans.” So, in 2023, we held our first AI hackathon, to provide our engineers a platform to experiment with new AI tools, demonstrate their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and unwavering passion for innovation. The teams proudly showcased their groundbreaking projects, solidifying AppsFlyer’s ongoing dedication to exploring and embracing the forefront of AI technologies and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the realm.
