Solve A Problem They Said!

I am a 44 year old guy who started working on iOS apps about three years ago. My day job involves network/systems architecture and I am a fully qualified CCIE #7742.

I have listened to many of the wonderful podcasting resources : Build and Analyze, Mobile Couch, theAppGuy and many more.

The key message from these is “Solve A Problem”. So here is my problem.

I like to run and I would like to do more runs for charity. The problem is I have “Donation Request Anxiety” DRA for short.

I am more than happy to give to charity and to people who are raising money for charity, however I get anxious and uptight at the thought of sharing a link to a donation page and asking people to GIVE ME MONEY, particularly when they don’t get an opportunity to see what’s going on behind the scenes in my bid to raise the cash.

I think that if people could see my training record they would know how much it means to me. It would show I am working hard, so would lessen the anxiety I feel when asking for MONEY.

This is the basic concept of BoostMyFund: show people how hard you are training, so please DONATE. This solves my problem but not only that it can be used by anyone to track and boost their charitable efforts from sporting events.

Posters can be used by anyone allowing them to engage early in their charity campaign. Regular updates can be made at the touch of an icon, thus preventing missed fundraising opportunities by sharing your donation link regularly and showing the effort you are putting in throughout.

Boost My Fund pulls together 3 key Data Stream to be shared on a regular basis namely:

  • The Charity
  • The Donation Link
  • The hard work you are putting in.

“Solve a problem they said!” — I am happy that I have solved my problem. I hope it helps others too and increases the charities yield as a result.
