Who is this exam for?

The candidate must be able to demonstrate a foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts, as well as the services, workloads, security, privacy, pricing, and support offered by Azure.

Certification can be a great option if you are looking for the following:
- Demonstrate your knowledge of cloud computing concepts, models and services, such as public, private and hybrid cloud, as well as infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS).
- Demonstrate expertise in how Azure manages security, privacy, compliance, and trust.

Familiarity with networking, storage, processing, application development and support concepts is recommended.

You can use the Azure Fundamentals certification to reinforce the fundamentals of other specialized or role-based Azure certifications, but it is not a prerequisite for any of them, so it is up to you to decide whether you want to earn this badge, or Immediately jump to expert level.

What must be done to obtain this certification?

To obtain the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification, the following steps must be followed:

General information about the exam

The Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals exam (AZ-900) is an entry-level certification exam that is designed to assess knowledge and understanding of Azure fundamental concepts.

The exam consists of 40–60 multiple choice questions and lasts 85 minutes.

The exam is supervised and can be taken in person at an authorized partner center or remotely, through a computer with an internet connection through Pearson VUE or Certiport.

The price of the exam varies depending on where you are located. In the case of Chile it has a cost of $55 USD.

Preparation

Although there are many resources available on the Internet to prepare this Microsoft certification, I recommend doing it personally with official material, since unofficial sources could confuse you as they are outdated material or contain erroneous information.
