19/red swans.

Few days ago a weird red rain fell upon the whole country. They said it was a Sahara desert storm, for strange reason rising up to cover Southern Europe. Don’t know how often it may happen or have happened in history, but intuitively it sounds like the typical black swan, «rara avis in terris nigroque simillima cygno» AKA something so strange and not predictable it avoids every possible scientific rule. For sure, it was somehow forecasted few days before, for weather scientists may have seen it in action. But when it did happen, when the phenomenon disclosed its effects, most of the people had no idea of what it was. More: it took time to realize the effects — why the hell all the cars were filthily dirty? — and find an explanation.

All this comes to my mind sitting on a chair waiting at a car wash. It’s a family managed one, they’re like ten working in the different stages of the process. They’re experimenting a sold out week and apparently they’re watching their revenues rise. Maybe for that they will be able to make investments for all the low market moments in the year. We dont know exactly why and how, but for sure, their antifragile setting will help them to survive.
