The summer is over and with this melancholic weather, there is nothing better to do than sleep and work. One thing I noticed is after we started the program I work a similar amount of hours but feel so much more tired. I guess constantly learning new things and a little bit of stress does require additional energy or I simply need some vitamins 🤔. On the other hand, my sleep quality is good and with this weather, it is nice to be under the blankets 😌

15th day

Today Rasa and I decided to try out what we learned during the pitch training and went to “The Family” organized event “Pitch Don’t Kill My Vibe! TechCrunch Disrupt Edition 🚀” to win some prizes. And we did! We earned the 2nd place and a ticket to Disrupt Berlin 2018 conference. Evening winners were La La Sports that helps you to find new sports you will love. It was one of the best pitches I have ever heard. The team is fantastic and they have solid traction so if anyone is interested in sport-related startups, be sure to follow them. They are currently in leAD Sports Accelerator and will have a demo day on the 12th of November.

16th day

We had some issues with our keynote presentation during our Tuesday Pitch event. Lesson learned — always double check. Still, managed to keep the prize for Best Idea but others are zooming on us. It’s nice to feel more and more comfortable on the scene and with every presentation, I feel more relaxed and confident.

17th day

Winter is over, summertime again! It’s really really hard not to enjoy the global warming. Great day start with Udra in Tempelhof.

Udra enjoys the airport fields

18th day

I don’t remember much details what we did, but a lot of tickets move from the left to the right, so it was a productive day 🤓!

Meanwhile, we released Dogo 1.0.2 version on Android. Our Android version still lacks some features like personalised training, video exams and a few other. As we are a very small team we chose to test different things on iOS and Android and now we have our first social feature live! We call it “Challenges” and users get a theme every week and can upload a photo of their pup and vote on others super cute dogs. In just 10 days we had:

  • 1'600 photos uploaded
  • 35'000 likes
  • 700'000 photo views

The iOS version is coming on the 15th of November.

“Challenges” still lack a lot of essential features, but it immediately increased our signup rate by 80% and average session time by 25%!

And just look at the puppies!! 😍

19th day

In the morning we had a workshop “How to fundraise” by Bastian Faulhaber. The more I learn about the fundraising the more it looks like dating. We are more than 10 years together with Rasa so we definitely need to work on the dating skills. During the workshop, we got some very concrete tips on how to organise this whole process. And probably the main message was that it is a long process and most important thing is to build connections (start now) and constantly update and remind about yourself. One very useful thing that I learned was that to close a deal with an Angel it might take 4 weeks and with VC 3–4 months (when you have everything ready). The funniest thing was an anecdote that VC never say simple straightforward NO as everyone has a story how they missed something big and all of them have FOMO.

So that was the week and next will be even better! Don’t forget to follow my Spotify playlist as it’s updated every week with 7 new songs:
