On March 22, millions of people around the world celebrated United Nations World Water Day. You probably saw posts on your Instagram Account that looked like this:

As we remember communities around the world who still need access to clean water, we’d like to include one more set of photos for your consideration:

Google named Aquagenuity Founder & CEO Doll Avant a global “Woman of Water” for her work using data to bring clean water to Flint, Michigan and underserved communities in the United States. Google flew Doll to Flint to pass out cases of water to local families still in need in Summer 2018.

World Water Day is observed annually on March 22 to raise awareness about how important water is to issues like public health, economic development, and even social justice and equality. The first World Water Day was observed by the United Nations in 1993, established as an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water related issues, be inspired to tell others, and take action to make a difference.

Aquagenuity stands with the United Nations and the many global organizations who are working to make sure that no one on the planet is left behind in our quest to bring clean water to all. And for Aquagenuity, that includes the residents in thousands of U.S. communities who are being exposed to high levels of lead and other toxins in their water.

UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) aims to ensure availability and sustainable management of water for all by 2030. By definition, this means leaving no one behind. Today, 3000 communities in the United States have unsafe levels of lead in their water; in fact, 71% of Americans have some form of unsafe or unknown toxins in their water, due to crumbling infrastructure, a lack of regulation, industrialization, and other anthropogenic (man-made) sources.

UN SDG Goal #6 — “clean water for all” — means ‘safely managed drinking water service’: water that is accessible on the premises, available when needed, and free from contamination. Starting in the United States, then moving beyond, Aquagenuity is the first in the world to use big data, blockchain and artificial intelligence to make sure that EVERYONE has access to water that is contamination-free.

The theme for World Water Day 2019, “Leaving No One Behind,” is based on a core pledge of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development — that everyone must benefit from progress.

When we say “everyone,” we mean everyone. So as a U.S.-based company, Aquagenuity is using big data to improve the lives of our neighbors in our backyard (here in the U.S.), as well as our neighbors around the globe.

Aquagenuity is launching tech-based solutions to advance the future of water. First up, a mobile app to make it easy to #preventanotherflint:

AquaGenius™ — a simple mobile app that tells you what’s in your local water, what it means for your health, and what to do about it.

The AquaGenius™ app will be released to consumers on 4.22.19 (Earth Day), as the finale of our 30 Day Water and Wellness Challenge which started on UN World Water Day 3.22.19. We’re inviting consumers, corporations and city officials to join our celebration of social impact and “clean water for all” on Earth Day with the AquaGenius™ App Premiere Event and the first annual Aquagenuity Social Impact Awards.

You can sign up for the challenge, learn more about the Earth Day launch, and be among the first to access the AquaGenius™app — just visit our website.

At Aquagenuity, we believe in a world where “leaving no one behind” includes all underserved communities, and we’re working hard to provide simple tech solutions that can protect public health and improve quality of life for citizens in the U.S. and beyond.

You can help us spread the word, support underserved communities, and find out “What’s In Your Water?” simply by signing up on our wait list.

Together we can truly provide “clean water for all.”
