APPLE

Apple entered our lives on January 9,2007 with the introduction of the first iPhone. It is the world’s third largest mobile phone manufacturer after Samsung and Nokia. It has been described as the most desired company in the world from 2008 to 2012.Today it continues to be in demand. It is still a developing company with supportive products such as Mac computers, iPhones, iPads and Apple Watch. In this context, creative manufacturers interested in software and design are needed in order to easily use the popular Apple products by the consumer.

The Apple team, It is a culturally diverse team that thinks, produces and redesigns people to realize what they are passionate in new ways. They provide this innovation power from their determination to do great work and their dedication to each other. Because they think that learning from the employees here is learning from the best.

Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC)

It is a conference organized by Apple, one of America’s most important technology company , for software developers every year in San Jose, California, USA. In this event, Apple provides thousands of software developers from all over the world to come together with Apple engineers and attend workshops and software sessions.

The purpose of the event is based on newly developed software such as iOS, MacOS, WatchOS and TvOS. The developers at the event have the opportunity to experience the innovations for the first time. Although the first 16 years of the WWDC conference were held in May, conferences held after this year (except 2006) were held in June. There are two options for participating in this event: paying a fee or earning a scholarship by developing a project.

WWDC Paid Participation

To get a conference ticket, you must first enter the ticket raffle opened in mid-March. If you win the lottery, Apple will let you know and you will be charged $ 1699 for your ticket. Then you get a WWDC ticket. (As you can imagine, this path appeals to experienced developers working mostly in large companies.)

WWDC Scholarship Participation

Another way to join WWDC is to go with a student scholarship. Apple invites hundreds of developers from all over the world every year to a WWDC event with a scholarship and the name of this program is called “WWDC Scholarships”.”WWDC Scholarships” applications are opened in March every year. Apple wants you to do a Swift Playground project to apply for the WWDC Scholarships program. After completing your project, you apply from Apple’s site. Apple then informs you by e-mail whether you are entitled to participate on a scholarship.

If you get a chance to participate in the WWDC event on a scholarship, you will have the chance to talk to Apple engineers one-on-one, experience Apple’s new technologies and software first, and meet Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. In addition, Apple also gives you a one-year Apple developer license.

Scholarship Kickoff (Special for Scholarship Participants)

It is an event on the day before the WWDC conference officially started. This event is specially organized by Apple for WWDC scholarships. In this event, you can ask engineers and executives from many departments within Apple, your curiosities about them and came across suprise names like Tim Cook or iJustine!

The Bash

A concert called “The Bash” takes place at the end of each WWDC. There is a famous group like Weezer in the concert. The Bash is the last entertainment activity and the final stage of the WWDC event.

WWDC Details

• Apple has been running a student program at WWDC since 2011.To date, this conference has hosted thousands of students.

• Over 75% of the students who attended the conference last year were students who attended the conference for the first time. In this case, the statistics show that the Swift and Everyone Can Code curriculum is widely adopted and allows many people from all over the world to start writing code.

• We see that students who applied and won for the previous Swift Playgrounds scholarships, started working in companies including Microsoft, Airbnb and many other companies, or established their own venture companies and non-profit organizations.

• Writing code is a lifelong skill. Apple expects to see students who continue their active education at STEM institutions and who attend school full-time. It is a great source of joy to support scholarship students, whose age range varies between 9 and 82.

Who Is TURKISHKIT?

It is the meeting point of high school — university students who want to design and develop applications that set the limits in the Apple world. Students who meet the unique world of coding and design also have the opportunity to discover skills such as critical thinking and problem solving. In order to support students who will be the pioneers of change, we come together at TurkishKit events where the codes written with the programming language of Apple world Swift meet the pages designed in Sketch.

Emirhan Erdogan Founder UIKit Trainer

Emirhan created a team in 2016 that aspires to form the loop between the learning-experience-sharing trio and draws its strength from its differences, aims to create a community may belong to the Apple culture in Turkey.

Turkishkit Experience-My Journey

I have been interested in software from a very young age. When I first used iMac, I felt fascinated. Then I started to take coding lessons. Think about it, you can develop useful and fun apps for people by combining words that nobody knows, creating sentences from them, writing lines of code and designing an application.

Personally, I was extremely interested. While I was thinking how I can improve myself more, I met Turkishkit thanks to a poster. In this poster, I learned that they provided design and coding training to high school and university students. I said what would I lose if I applied and then I applied. Fortunately I applied, I would really lose a lot if I did not.

What are their contributions to us?

A good iOS training program. To identify our creativity and interests with new applications in the field of design and software. Opportunity to meet a volunteer team that always helps us and answers the question marks in our minds. Being able to express the excitement and happiness of learning without hesitation.

I would like to thank you for the opportinity of making new friendships and organazing a special event for girls only. At the same time, thanks to the opportunities provided by Turkishkit on the gold tray, they create useful individuals for the world .

We have compiled Apple’s magic world under 3 main titles, and I hope it has been a useful article. You can ask all your questions on our social media accounts (@aquamatis-@xroboticgirlx)
