Initial Airdrop — The Eligibility Checker
With our Initial Airdrop for AQUA starting Monday August 16, 2021, you can now use the checker to find out what you will receive.
On Monday, August 16th, the launch of the AQUA token into the Stellar ecosystem starts. In our article last week, we explained who would be eligible for this airdrop and what criteria can increase the amount of AQUA you will receive.
Knowing if your wallet is eligible or not might be a bit confusing, especially if you haven’t used a wallet for some time or it was previously merged to reduce the number of wallets you held.
We would like to give you this tool to help you see which wallets are eligible for the airdrop, whilst also presenting to you how much those wallets will receive during the entirety of the Initial Airdrop.
In this article, we will show you the easy steps to use the checker as well as some updates afterwards for the Initial Airdrop.
📖 The Eligibility Checker Guide
The first step will be to head over to https://airdrop.aqua.network.
Here you will be presented with the Eligibility Checker. Simply enter your public key, or federated address, for the wallet you would like to check and then click the Check button.
Next, you will see the results for your wallet. You will be told in the Account Eligibility section if you’re eligible or not.
If the wallet is eligible you will see the breakdown of the total to be received, including bonuses, and the total AQUA you can receive throughout the airdrop. After the Claimable Balances are sent this week, the amount of AQUA for each phase of the airdrop will be shown in the Airdrop status section, as well as if you claimed each phase within the dedicated time period.
That is it! Simply enter your wallet, or refresh and enter another if you have multiple wallets, to find out how much AQUA you are eligible for.
🗞 Initial Airdrop Updates
5 Billion AQUA tokens will be distributed through this Initial Airdrop over 5 phases. So that’s 1 Billion, or 1% of the total supply, every month. With the Initial Airdrop almost upon us, we have some important data & statistics for you.
Eligible Wallets
272,980 wallets are eligible for this Initial Airdrop!
- 104,845 wallets are active on the network.
- Another 168,135 wallets are merged but can claim by being reactivated.
Base Rewards & Multipliers
The base reward for each Eligible Wallet will be 11,222 AQUA. This means the multiplier rewards, and how many wallets are eligible for each, are:
- 22,444 AQUA for 2x Multiplier → 67,127 eligible wallets.
- 44,888 AQUA for 4x Multiplier → 30,642 eligible wallets.
- 89,776 AQUA for 8x Multiplier → 1,931 eligible wallets.
The Claimable Balances
We will be releasing all 5 Claimable Balances in one go. Although all 5 will be viewable, the time frames for each are 30 day periods for claims to be made. Doing the airdrop this way ensures the Initial Airdrop will be guaranteed by the Stellar Network as we can’t change these transactions once on the network. This improves our transparency and means your claims are locked in until the end of the airdrop.
Here is a reminder of the dates, these are estimated as the Stellar Network has a 5–8 second Ledger time so there will be an incredibly small difference to the time shown.
Once you’ve claimed your AQUA it is immediately available in your wallet. This means you can start trading, holding, or sending these tokens without delay and they are yours to do with as you wish.
With 90,854 wallets being active in the last 12 months out of the 272,980 eligible, there is a chance that a fair few tokens may go unclaimed. Remember, any Claimable Balances that are not claimed after each phase will be placed into the DAO community fund wallet. These tokens will be used by the community in the future once voting is enabled. This means AQUA token holders will be able to put these tokens to good use, without them having to go to waste by being unclaimed.

In line with our ethos of being open and honest, next week we will open-source all our tools used for this airdrop. This way you can check and ensure that we are being 100% honest with you for the Initial Airdrop.

With the checker to hand making it easier to find eligible wallets, you can now start reactivating merged wallets with known Private keys. The time schedule above also allows you to get the dates of the phases in your calendar, so you don’t miss a drop of AQUA!
