Our Research Target :

Users and Communities … What are we looking for from them?

  1. Pokemon Go users
  2. How do they use Pokemon Go?
  3. What kind of interactions do they make in online communities?
  4. What is the most attractive, fun element that makes you keep playing this game?
  5. Some heuristic evaluation on their PG application usage
  6. What is structured well, and what is bad?
  1. Harry Potter Series Geeks: Those who are willing to play the AR game based on Wizarding World Lore
  2. What are they like?
  3. What kind of element do they want to partly bring from their fictional lore to the real world, with AR, GPS, and smartphone devices?

How We Would Access the Research Target :

  1. Pokemon Go users & communities
  2. Utilize existing Yonsei communities (Everytime, KakaoTalk Group chat), look for Yonsei students who were already enjoying PG, contact them, and interview them
  3. Visit PG-related websites (DC Inside PG Gallery, PG Inven, PG Naver Cafe) and observe what kind of postings they make online, what kind of interaction they make, what is the main item of their conversation, and so on.

4. Harry Potter series geeks

5. Utilize existing Yonsei communities (Everytime, KakaoTalk Group chat), look for Yonsei students who can confidently say that they are serious Harry Potter geeks, contact them, and interview them

6. We have some of our own friends (out of Yonsei) who can proudly say that they are Harry Potter series geeks -> meet them

7. Recently launched PS game ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ … may have some significant findings for us regarding how users would interact with and perceive the elements of the Wizarding World Lore

8. Since it’s expensive to buy the game (and also the PlayStation), look for some playing videos on Youtube and explore what the game is like, and maybe recruit someone with experience playing the game and interview them
