POWERING THE NEXT-GENERATION ARCADE

Greetings and good day to all those following Arcade Galaxy! It has been more than a month since our last progress report to the community, and we have a lot to fill everyone in on. From our organization, scope, to the technical realm, there is a substantial range of content to cover.

First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who followed us and participated in our first mint — 2,000 unique PLANETs to represent our karting game type for those to play, build, and earn with. For holders, we have some news that might be very interesting to you in this monthly dev log… Let’s dive in!

EXPANDING OUR UNIVERSE

Since revealing Arcade Galaxy, we have been honored to appreciate the support from the wider AVAX, GameFi, and gaming communities. To honor the ambitious vision of this universe of fun and games, we have grown our team and have started to set the foundation of this next-generation platform. We are committed and passionate about making this a fun and rewarding place for the global gaming community to play, create, and compete!

In light of these goals, we are happy to announce that Macaca Games, a development studio focusing on casual/mobile games, will be joining us as of the month of June! We are finalizing the graphical style and initial game mode for a planned ALPHA TEST (see more at the end of this dev log). We are also engaged in discussions with concept art studios to design and deliver more in-game assets.

INTEGRATING BLOCKCHAIN TECH

Development using the blockchain went smoothly with our previous build, and now we are focusing on wallet integration within the backend.

We are looking for a possible solution to integrate Web3 with traditional modes of user authentication. The objective is to streamline the login system for users and DApp with their own wallet, ensuring ease-of-use between the website and the marketplace.

We aim to facilitate a secure, fast user experience using signatures/private keys to prove the user’s ownership of those rights. Then, the user is able to access their personal data or trade their inventory items with other players.

Users should expect our systems to behave similar to traditional authentication (ex: logging into email, social platform accounts). In summary, the UX will be familiar — the only thing we need to tweak is interactions with the blockchain from our backend server and open API for the front-end to call.

GAMEPLAY ITERATION

We’ve been testing different game modes and trying to pinpoint the most fun and feasible game modes that we can polish within a shorter time frame. At the moment, our design team is debating between a PVP vehicular brawler and a linear, knockout-style racing game with various obstacles. Either of these modes would receive full editor support.

On that note, our development team recently completed an internal multiplayer test. It’s still an early work-in-progress with placeholder animations and assets, but we had some fun! Here’s a brief preview of our latest competitive mode for our community…

UPDATE FOR PLANET HOLDERS

We are excited to reveal that we will open our CREATOR’S TOOL for holders in a future alpha test, this upcoming event will allow you to build, share, and test levels!

FINAL THOUGHTS + ALPHA TARGET

We’ve worked hard to hit many of the milestones in our roadmap, and as part of being transparent about our progress we’re announcing our plan to conduct a two-week (TBD) ALPHA TEST at some point around August 2022! All NFT holders will have an alpha test ticket airdropped to their wallet.

More ALPHA TICKETS will be made available through community raffles and activations — stay tuned and thanks for being with us on this journey!
