Staying on Target

At Arcade Galaxy, we aim to build a community across countless worlds. It is a monumental task, and we are cultivating partnerships and knowledge from across the industry to achieve this ambitious vision of next-gen, play-to-earn, arcade gaming on mobile devices. As indicated in our initial announcement, some of our foremost priorities are offering variety, value, and creativity for gamers, creators, and advertisers alike.

While we intend to unveil a wealth of information on our roadmap and core gameplay experience in the near future, we thought we could take some time and dive into behind-the-scenes details with some of our most well-respected partners. There is a lot of ground to cover in how we are coordinating our efforts to make sure that we are responsible, quality-conscious, and providing an expansive GameFi title for everyone.

A Conversation with Avalaunch

Projects that exist on the blockchain are becoming more numerous, and it can be difficult to stay competitive in appeal, utility, and acceptance with all of the challenges that exist within this blossoming space. As a team, we have a commitment to a rewarding, sustainable experience using an energy-efficient, low-cost solution through AVAX — and this reality is ever present in our work. In this respect, Avalaunch has stepped up in enabling innovation in this space as a trusted protocol for fundraising in DeFi, specifically in the Avalanche ecosystem.

Co-founder of Avalaunch, Mark Stanwyck, was kind enough to provide some valuable insight into everything from managing growth to the complexities of making for a more accessible route for innovative projects just coming onto the scene. Our conversation is documented here…

Q: What is Avalaunch’s mission as a platform for decentralized fundraising, and how do you work in enabling creators and projects just coming onto the scene?

Mark: “Avalaunch was built to address the gap we saw in the fundraising landscape between community-driven funding and meaningful, inclusive distribution of tokens at launch. Many have recognized the power of exposing retail to early opportunity, but it tends to be artificially constricted in service of other motives unrelated to the decentralization of the token and acquiring critical capital for early-stage projects.

We have spent a lot of time understanding the Avalanche ecosystem, project growth, as well as the fundraising landscape, and we work with teams early in an effort to transmit as much of this experience as possible.”

Q: What about Arcade Galaxy appeals to you and your team?

Mark: “When first interacting with the Arcade Galaxy team, it was immediately obvious that we were speaking with a group of people that had become obsessed with their product, and would stop at nothing to make it great. GameFi has already become saturated, but that doesn’t make the potential of it any less exciting. What makes Arcade Galaxy stand out is that they are ready to innovate and build beyond what’s been done already and take risks. By layering in digital identity, popular culture, enduring games, DeFi and community all into one, Avaluanch feels that Arcade Galaxy is poised to build something truly special ready to take on a life of its own.”

Q: How do you work towards success in such a novel, competitive space in technology — and how would you explain how Avalaunch distinguishes itself apart from traditional forms of fundraising with independent projects or otherwise?

Mark: “The Avaluanch process is designed to remove the burden of launch and fair distribution of the tokens at TGE, so the team can focus on what they came to build. Crypto asks teams to specialize in a number of disciplines related to taking a project to market that are complex, nuanced and technically onerous. And when they don’t go as planned, it’s often difficult to pull out of the tailspin.

Our platform handles these complexities and pairs it with a network that spans the entire Avalanche ecosystem, to make sure that teams looking to build here receive the attention they deserve. Our community is a large one, and exposure to them at the earliest stages of a project can be a tremendous way to bootstrap growth that far outpaces more traditional fundraising methods.”

Q: What is your long-term hope when it comes to GameFi and decentralized finance?

Mark: “We have always put what we want to the side and decided to focus on sourcing quality from what the market gives us. Nine months ago, we could have never predicted the rise of gaming in blockchain, but here we are, and we see incredibly talented teams directing their resources, time and money toward new and interesting games. Our hope with all of this is that we can continue to foster and grow alongside the strongest teams coming into the space and leave some sort of lasting legacy on the Avalanche ecosystem, whatever [that] ends up looking like.”

Many thanks to Mark and the team for collaborating on this piece. Make sure to follow us on here and our social media channels as we’ll keep you posted on the latest developments from Arcade Galaxy!
