MID REVIEW — ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY

Each L-shaped floor rotates 90 degrees about a center axis/elevator. The rotation of the floor plans both open terraces with revealing void space while enclosing private spaces. Enclosed spaces differ in program, where program is changed by the addition or removal of terrace walls. Stairs wrap around the elevator to direct the user in a continuous spiraling like the floors.

Terraces are all utilized as reading/lounging space. The voids where the terraces reside in, differentiate in heights as a result from the rotation of the floors. The book stacks occupy partially enclosed space towards outer walls, but lack of walls near reading areas or void space. Stairs are located in the book stacks space for quick access to the upper stack space without having to leave the area to use the main stairs.
