the central stairs are inspired by the random and haphazard nature of pedestrian traffic, and so its a way to bring the chaos in to the building without having a negative effect on the program.

The service area’s as well as the book stacks and egress circulation are located at the north and west corners of the building, the walls which have neighboring buildings, allowing the street side, which is rich in sunlight, to be designated for study spaces.

Each level has a different celling hight, which allows the inhabitants to feel more and more ‘compressed’ as they move upwards in the building, until they reach the top level, roof study area which will enable them to be creative, the other creative space is on the first floor, at the bottom of the atrium and central circulation, as there will be a sky light and the space will be extremely open.

Each floor plate is a slightly different shape in order to allow the building to stand out against the site’s rectilinear orthogonality. Also the different angles allow/ enable different views of the neighborhood.
