Final Proposal - Space Library

In my project I created 2 separate buildings. the connection between them is based on the idea of oval orbits. The ovals are rotated in relation to each other in plan, and vertically they create a spiral. The structure of the building as well as plans follows the orbits and the vertical spiral is the basic element of the main circulation between two buildings. Each of which has its own circulation: stairs in a smaller building and elevator and egress stairs in the bigger one. The smaller building is elevated above the ground creating a public plaza underneath and bringing people in.

The programs of the buildings differ from each other. The smaller one is devoted to the scientific knowledge about the space and space explorations and has rigid organization that follows the structure. The bigger building is devoted to science fiction and has more playful organisation where people can rearrange study areas according to their needs what promotes interaction between them.

The fabric shell over the buildings allows me to cover the gap between two volumes and make ramps that connect them suitable for studying. It allowed me to create a variety of spaces: enclosed interior spaces, outside spaces that covered with fabric and balconies that are completely open.
