I tried to make a column which had three different lofting sections, a base square, a middle hexagon, and a top square rotated 45 degrees.

I had difficulty with a few things. The first came in controlling the height, something that seemed to always cause a dimensional constraint error. The second was with controlling the way in which it chose to loft. Although I thought the final shape family looked okay, I wish I knew how to control it better. Lastly, I have no idea how to dimension in a 3D view on the sheet….

This is the sheet. I had fun messing with gradients and what not :)
