Stake and Vote with ARCH

Stake ARCH for Voting Power

ARCH token holders can stake ARCH tokens to get voting power. Voting power gives Archer DAO members the opportunity to vote on and submit proposals.

Stake ARCH for Voting Power (app.archerdao.io)

From the governance portal, ARCH token holders may:

  • Stake and unstake ARCH
  • Vote on proposals
  • Create new proposals (min. 20k voting power)
  • Claim vested ARCH tokens, if applicable

Staked tokens are stored in the Voting Power Prism Proxy smart contract, which also tracks each user’s voting power. Staked tokens and vesting tokens both count towards voting power at a 1:1 ratio.

For an overview of the governance system, please read our previous post.

First Proposals

The first proposals have been created by members of the Archer DAO community:

Archer DAO Proposals (gov.archerdao.io)

Note: each proposal uses a historical snapshot to determine how much voting power users have available. Once a proposal’s snapshot has passed, staking or unstaking tokens has no impact on the voting power available for that proposal.

What to Expect from Completed Proposals

Proposals will most likely lead to one of the following outcomes:

  • Proposals may be executed directly. For example, config changes
  • Proposals may be executed later. For example, after some development
  • Proposals may be revisited in the “Core” channel. For example, if an issue is high impact, contentious, and/or gathers low support
  • Proposals may not be executed, especially if they are off-topic or low quality

Our team commits to work with DAO members to generate high-quality proposals. High-quality proposals will typically be actionable and have clear requirements.

Snapshot voting is not perfect, especially for complicated topics. Consider using proposals also as a signalling tool, where a series of proposals are used to form a fuller picture of how the community views topics.

Our team is available in Discord to answer any questions about the technical system or the governance process.

Governance Channels on Discord

The current proposals were discussed first in Discord.

ARCH token holders with at least 10,000 ARCH may access governance channels using the command “!join” in Discord.
