Sushi integrates with Archer’s MEV Shield — a how-to guide for traders
Following Omakase’s teaser tweet last week, Sushi’s integration with Archer’s MEV Shield went live after weeks of beta testing in their Canary branch.
Sushi users will now have access to everything Archer’s MEV Shield offers — frontrun mitigation, sandwich attack protection, zero-slippage trades, and fee-free trade cancelation — directly within Sushi’s UI.
Wanna start protecting your trades like a pro? Follow these four simple steps and you’ll be bot-busting and slippage-saving in no time.
Step 1 — connect wallet
Connect your MetaMask (or other web3 wallet) to Sushi, just as you normally would would when making a trade.
Step 2 — settings menu
Select the ‘settings’ dropdown menu from within the swap interface.
Toggle the “MEV Shield by Archer DAO” button in the bottom right corner.
Change “Slippage tolerance” to 0% — this is one of the benefits of using Archer’s MEV shield.
Step 3 — swap
Select the tokens you want to swap.
You’ll notice there is a ‘Miner Tip’ slider — this tip replaces the gas fee usually associated with Ethereum transactions.
Most traders have success with the default, “balanced” tip option, but in situations with high volatility (i.e. during flash crash), you may want to increase your tip level.
After your tip is settled, hit that swap button, and confirm swap!
Step 4 — sign
After clicking “Confirm Swap,” in Sushi’s UI, you will be then promoted to confirm the transaction in your wallet.
If using MetaMask, the following dropdown message will appear.
You are basically giving Sushi permissions to use Archer’s private network to tip miners directly, instead of paying an intermediary gas fee through the public mempool.
And that’s it! Now your transaction will be processed privately, securely, and with priority.
Once completed you will be able to see transaction confirmation on Etherscan.
At this point, you’re officially trading like a pro. Did you know Vitalik Buterin used Archer Swap around a dozen times last month to liquidate his positions in various meme coins? Swap with confidence, swap like Vitalik!
