Forum

The forum allows players to engage with each other, provide tutorials and guides, and receive updates on the latest announcements and patch notes. It is divided into several categories, including Governance Discussion, Gameplay Discussion, Site Feedback, Proposals, Knowledge Base, and Generals.

  • Announcement — to update the players with the latest announcement and patch notes.
  • Knowledge base — a place where newcomers will be able to find tutorials and guides to the game. Existing players are also encouraged to share tips and insights here.
  • Gameplay discussion — players are recommended to discuss gameplay mechanisms, report bugs, share gaming experience, find groups or even post their achievements in this section.
  • Site feedback — where users can post suggestions to our official website.
  • Governance discussion — a place to discuss ArchLoot, the game, its parameters, ALT governance, and the ArchLoot community.

This is where the majority of the discussion on ArchLoot’s ecosystem takes place. Ideas such as changing gaming mechanisms, economic parameters, UI/UE improvements, future patches, use of treasury, etc are all welcomed.

Initially, the team will look at the broadly discussed topics and summarize them into proposals for players (ALT holders) to vote for. Details of the proposed voting procedure are discussed in the community voting section below.

Over time, major holders of ALT will be able to generate their own proposals for community voting.

  • Proposals — where discussions of the upcoming proposals take place. Usually after the parameters and contracts are set. Given that the voting period after a proposal is submitted is time-sensitive, we expect most discussions in this section to happen during the voting period.
  • Generals — other discussions that do not belong to any of the existing categories.

We strongly encourage our existing users and those who are watching the progress of ArchLoot to hop into the forum and leave your thoughts.

Community voting

The trademark of a Web3 gaming project is its community governance feature. In less than three months of its mainnet release, ArchLoot launched the community voting program, sending a symbolic message of embracing decentralization.

The community governance procedure has two steps: submit ArchLoot Improvement Proposal (AIP) and vote on these AIPs. The general cycle goes like this:

  • Anyone can join ArchLoot’s Forum at https://forum.archloot.com/ to start or discuss existing Archloot Request for Comments (ARCs). ARCs are merely consolidated ideas and suggestions on certain improvements that players would like to see in ArchLoot.
  • Anyone with enough proposition power (holder of more than 70,000 ALT) can and take an ARC and create AIP on https://vote.archloot.com/#/. The AIP creation process should take all comments and discussions under an ARC discussion into consideration.

For Snapshot polls related to sentiment signaling, the proposer will need to provide:

  1. Details of the proposal
  2. a voting period — vote start date and vote end date set to a 3 day voting period, and
  3. a voting delay — a Snapshot block number that is 6570 blocks (approximately 1 day) in the future. The Snapshot block number locks the state of community members who can vote. Token holders who hold tokens before the Snapshot block number are eligible to vote. Before the snapshot of each address’ respective voting power, the voting delay gives ALT holders time to acquire tokens, delegate voting power, and move tokens between wallets.
  4. a voting system — voters either vote for, against or void a given proposal.
  • After the AIP is created, all ALT holders can log into https://vote.archloot.com/#/, connect their crypto wallets, and vote given that they have voting power at the snapshot moment and the voting period is still valid. The voting power is calculated by the amount of ALT tokens held at the moment of the snapshot. Moreover, for an AIP to be passed,
  1. It needs at least 50% of the vote in favor of the proposal
  2. The total voting power that participated in this AIP must exceed 10,000
  • Once an AIP is passed, the ArchLoot team will have the change implemented immediately. The exact time needed depends on the nature of the AIP.

ArchLoot’s community governance procedures go beyond traditional gaming projects. Players have the opportunity to participate in gaming content, influence steering, and enjoy the ride with other members of the ecosystem. ArchLoot encourages its existing users and those who are watching its progress to visit the forum and share their thoughts. Overall, this innovation sets ArchLoot apart in the gaming industry, marking a significant step towards decentralization and community governance.
