What Has ArchLoot Done Between the 1st and 2nd Phase of the Closed Beta Test?

ArchLoot has finished 2 phases of Closed Beta Tests and holds an exciting series of events. In the spirit of celebrating our successful CBT 2, let’s have a general review of what the team has added and improved the game after the first phase, to make it a more adventurous world that you’ve never seen.

Review of 1st Closed Beta Test

Time: May 18th — May 22th

100 testers from 2000+ candidates

Community members from Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Japan have been active players in the game

During the first phase of the Closed Beta Test, participants were given 4 days, which was extended from the original plan of 2 days. It might limit the experience in high-level maps, but was a precious glimpse of the entire PlanetALT3 and its adventurous details.

Highlight Features

  • 8 daily maps
  • Over 300 NFT body parts

*The game gives the full-scale UGC freedom to design the avatar and recombine the body parts

  • Over 100 attributes/ skills of the body parts
  • Hundreds of materials and treasures for battles & living

*Their functions vary from improving the body parts and improving monsters’ attributes, to upgrading tribe buildings and much more.

  • Building the tribe to survive

*Residence for man staff, Fruit barn for food, Elementium for mining, Dock to access the external maps, Arena for PVP battles, Dying building to change your avatar, Herb Garden to produce medicine, Enhancement building to level up/ reset NFT body parts, Guard post to defend tribe wars, Gene building to edit the NFT gene scheme.

  • 4 ferry tickets per day for PVE explorations

*To consume all ferry tickets usually takes 2~3h.

  • Unexpected interactions in the maps

*NPCs and equipment in the game may amplify or reduce the attributes or can do so in a limited time period.

  • Quest system

*Finishing the daily quests usually takes 10~15mins and every item has a handsome prize. With a monthly pass on hand, gamers can claim $ALG rewards on this board.

  • Achievement system

*Gamers are also abundantly rewarded for various tasks in all kinds of maps.

  • Attribute resetting

*It is the savvy gamer’s choice to try his/her luck in the resetting system. Unlocking 4 same attribute bars will triple the volume of this attribute. It is almost an invincible way to level up your NFT body parts.

  • Enhance Organ

*Enhancement will consume a certain amount of resources. Every body part can be ranked up to 5 stars.

  • 1v1 PVP arena

*Seasonal Leaderboard winners will be rewarded with token incentives.

  • Monster show

*All gamers have full access to the NFT repository in the Monster Show, where they can try & test all rare body parts to assemble for fun. Peer gamers can vote for their favourites.

In conclusion, by the end of CBT 1, ArchLoot has showcased a great level of product readiness to the community. The rest of the work lies in the enhancement and finalization of the in-game economy.

Review of 2nd Closed Beta Test

Time: August 18th — August 25th

300 testers from 3000+ candidates

Gamers from over 20 countries and regions registered to participate and the team made evaluations in consideration of the geographical diversity

New Highlight Features

  • iOS version

*Gamers can choose to finish the installation on an Android or iOS system.

  • Language support

*In CBT2, every fresh installation will be followed by a language in the game that is the same as the language of the device, for instance, English or Korean. More languages will be supported in accordance with the roadmap.

  • Durability system

* All the avatar NFT body parts have limited endurance during the battles and there are actions or costs required for their longer lifespan. When defeated in the PvE, all body parts that have been used during the battle will lose 5% of their durabilities.

Gamers would need repair potions to fix their gears before they drop to zero and become totally unavailable in PVE.

There is a certain ratio for epic and legendary body parts in the ArchLoot Mystery boxes to be immune from dropping the durabilities. The system will help balance the consumption and generation of the tokens, while keep powering the long-term value of the NFTs.

  • Chests

*When exploring the maps, monsters are likely to drop valuable materials. Opening the chest, gamers have the chance to gain golds, and parts, upgrade materials and repair potions. Defeating the boss will have 100% certainty in gaining the BOSS chest to grab even more rare materials.

  • Multiplayer feature 1 — Mysterious island

*The mysterious island is a hidden map that is only available for 3-person teams and hugely adds to the playability and escalates the challenges. There will also be special maps that occur at festivals or anniversaries.

  • Multiplayer feature 2 — Clan Raid Event

*The clan system allows gamers to socialise, form groups, and unlock the ‘Lord Challenge’ event together.

*The 3v3 PVP arena is a place full of uncertainties and fun. Gamers will be wrestling with opposite competitors to move the artwork or defend the artwork.

The pushers win if they manage to push the artwork to their destination.

The defenders win if the artwork does not touch the destination when the time runs out.

The path to the destination is full of obstacles, including ubiquitous monsters, opponents, and unpredictable accidents.

The artwork can only be moved by pushers within the circle.

The artwork will be slower when the defenders are also in the circle.

So try to stay within the circle as long as possible.

Defeating a defender will make the artwork faster for a while

Defeating a pusher will make the artwork slower for a while

Every next time you get killed, the longer it will take for your respawn.

There are supplement materials alongside the path. Leaving the team to grab a bite would be a life-saving choice.

One 3v3 game only lasts for 10mins for the teams to come out with a result.

  • Official Marketplace

*Gamers can experience FT/NFT asset deposit, transfer, and trading on the testnet.

  • New NPCs

Closing Thoughts

It has been the pursuit of ArchLoot to build an ideal case of great playability and sustainability in the GameFi space. The improvements of CBT2 mainly focused on three perspectives: economic sustainability, compatibility, and content enrichment; which aims to make the game more accessible and playable for a wider user base.

One special design is the durability system, where every NFT, no matter how rare it is, has a fixed length of usage. Unexpected circumstances like a failure in PVE could shorten 5% of the lifespan. There are no other things but repair potions (available in the chest and the marketplace) that can work the magic.

The system is a delicate design that bound the gamer’s skills, NFT value, and the performance of the second market into a mutual-effective system. In the long term, the system will help balance the consumption and generation of the tokens, while keep powering the value of the NFTs.
