Meet Mark Gorelick, Performance Lab’s new VP of Digital Health!
Mark has recently joined us after 20 years in the sport, fitness and health industry. A former academic working in biomedic science, previously he was at wearable company PAI Health (formerly Mio Global) where he built heart rate sensing devices and analytics for sport performance. He has a PHD in biomedical science, focused on non-evasive diagnostic techniques for chronical back pain.
Mark is strategically based in Vancouver, Canada to be close to the large US and Canadian insurance players of the world. His role at Performance Lab is to take the Arda technology which has been centred around sports and performance and leverage that for an insurance and wellness product for North America.
Real Health Outcome Changes
Throughout his career, Mark has always been excited about bringing new technologies to market on a global scale. He’s really excited about bringing Arda to consumers en masse in the wellness space for massive adoption and real outcome changes related to health and performance.
Health has always been a part of Mark’s life. In his undergrad he studied Kinesiology and he has been fortunate to leverage his exercise physiology training throughout his career. He started early on in his health journey playing lots of racket sports and then later moved into marathon running, short distance and track and field. Over the last decade Mark has been an avid Crossfitter while also enjoying yoga.
Health is a priority for Mark in his day to day life and he strongly believes that if you maintain a healthy body you will be more successful in your daily life. In his work at Performance Lab he gets to blend both of his passions — fitness and technology. He is consistently researching new health devices, sensors and analytics platforms in order to build the next cutting edge health and fitness product. We should all be aware of the current obesity epidemic which has led to the staggering increases in Type 2 Diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It’s Mark’s hope that we can bring a truly revolutionary product to the market to make real health outcome changes.
