Where the mission is critical and the rewards intangible

Our mission

To positively influence others to achieve or exceed their goals one bite-size step at a time.

That’s our purpose; our raison d’être. If you feel you can contribute to it, please continue reading.

The current focus of AP Journal is well-researched positive psychology articles in the areas of personal development and happiness.

If you believe AP Journal’s mission fits with your values and purpose, then please do the following:

  • Frame your article with a story.
  • Use a captivating hook.
  • Follow Medium’s guidelines. Read them here, here, and here.
  • Include relevant, interesting pictures with appropriate credit given to the creator of the image.
  • Cite your sources with a hyperlink. If you’re including books, use the title and create a link to it. For example, Talk like TED. (This is a great book, by the way.)
  • Use credible sources such as original research, .edu, and .gov sites. If you cite another website such as Happify, Positive Psychology Program, Science of Happiness, etc. that’s fine. Make sure you read and analyze the .org site’s material before referencing it.
  • If citing proprietary work, include a link AND give credit within your text. For example, infographics that include original research by a specific entity, or a list created by and based on research conducted by a specific company.
  • Use the following tags: personal development, happiness, or life lessons. Do not use all three for the same article.
  • Additional tags you can use are self-development, positive psychology, health, and advice for life/motivation.
  • Use title case for your title and subtitle.
  • Refrain from using profanity.
  • Ardent Path Journal accepts original work only. Please don’t send articles you’ve published elsewhere. Send a link to a draft of your article.
  • Please don’t remove your article from AP Journal after publication. If you decide to do this, you’ll be removed as a writer for the publication.
  • Your article should be a 4–10-minute read. This is about 1100–2700 words. Here’s how Medium calculates read time.

I’ll add more details as needed, but this is a good starting point.

Are you ready to contribute?

Thank you! I look forward to reading your article!
