Is Socialism Dystopian?

One thing that I do not understand is why some people think that taking away the rights of other people will bring about the ideal peace everyone imagines in their heads. Utopia does not exist if people lose their freedom that is a dystopia. Tom Palmer describes what true utopia is, “one has the right to do whatever one chooses with what is one’s own — to freely follow one’s own will, rather than the commands of another, so long as one respects the equal rights of others.”

When I used to be an atheist I was fed the idea that if we all believed the same thing it would lead to peace, but now that I actually have conviction, I know that I would not give that up for anything. Some people have very loose convictions that are based on their own preferences while many other people who are religious have convictions that are formed by some sort of scripture. Those with convictions founded upon scripture are not going to just forfeit them. The lack of peace in this world is actually people being non-libertarian in their thinking because if you were libertarian you would accept that other people have convictions and beliefs that are different from your own. You would be able to get along with them without being intolerant and aggressive towards their worldview and preferences.

His main series is his Christian picture book series, “About God for Kids”, where he discusses the attributes of God in a way kids can digest. He also wrote a Christian Romance novel, libertarian book for beginners, and Christian coloring books. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
