Is San Jose, Costa Rica Safe?
San Jose, Costa Rica has kind of a bad reputation. While the Coca-Cola is known to be a dangerous neighborhood, avoiding certain roads and sticking to certain neighborhoods can be a great time!
If you have to travel to the Coca-Cola, which is where a lot of buses stop and start, I recommend leaving ASAP and heading to the main footpath called Ave. Central (Central Avenue, one block south of Avenida 1).
