Most Jobs Are A Form Of DEI. Even For White Guys.

As people complain about DEI and which jobs are and aren’t essential, it raises an interesting problem…in that most of the jobs we have are non-essential.

Basically?? Most jobs are a form of DEI. We are trying to give everyone a job, no matter their skill level. Yes, this even applies to white guys. Coding and creating websites no one needs could easily be considered a form of DEI. It’s a job we made up because we had leisure time and new technology.

We didn’t have to spend all of our time farming anymore, and started to make up jobs for people who didn’t want to farm. Is that not DEI? It’s a DEI initiative focused on skills instead of race or gender. It was just unspoken…we didn’t call it what it really was.

Sure, we don’t need park rangers. We can just have no parks. We don’t need air traffic controllers. Just take a bus to Mexico next time you want to go on vacation. What about your video games, your books, your content, the people who deliver your groceries? Your social media apps? The people who make your latte?

We probably don’t really *need* all of these things.

But we know having these things is like, generally good. Typically, as a society, we are striving for things to be easier, for everyone to have an income and purpose.
