My Dad Is Latino, My Mom Is White, And I’m What Conservative Men Are So Scared Of.

Last night, at a Trump rally, Tony Hinchcliffe made a joke abut Latinos having babies because they don’t “pull out.”

I’m the product of a Latino who didn’t “pull out”, I guess. My mom is white with blonde hair and clear eyes. I remember, during a trip to the beach, a racist spitting on her when he saw me and realized she had been with a darker man.

I am what these conservative men are so afraid of. It’s kind of surreal. Yeah, I’m a product of a *gasp* white woman sleeping with a Latino man!

Am I so scary? I am not as light as she is, and I’m not as dark as my father. I grew up eating empanadas and pierogies. Yes, my mom used to boil chicken and use no seasoning…my dad taught her how to cook meat.

It’s strange being this human being that conservatives are so afraid of, but the narrative is always there…the fear white women will be invaded by non-white men.

Should I tell them plenty of white American women come here to Costa Rica and hook up with Latinos all on their own? Would that somehow ruin the idea that brown men are always the ones “invading” and white women need to be protected in some tower?

I know two white women who stayed here to have children and marry a Costa Rican…
