The Strange Advice A Man Gave His Gay Son.

Why give up the benefits of a wife, due to sexual preference?

I know a man who came out when he was a teenager. He has never had a girlfriend, and has never shown any sexual interest in women. He has had women friends and idols, but the sexual desire just is not there. He likes men even more than I do.

His father is not okay with his son being gay, which isn’t so unusual…but something I found strange is this: His father encourages his son to be DL…to marry or date women, for practical purposes.

He will point out that a woman will cook and clean, and that he wouldn’t have to pay her. He will point out that a woman will help him “save money.” My gay friend is always confused when his father says these things, because he doesn’t have romantic feelings for women.

But the romantic feelings seem irrelevant. His father is talking about the practical aspects of having a girlfriend and wife, and those don’t seem to include sexual or emotional needs.
