The world’s largest auto-makers continue to invest in the future of electric vehicles (EVs). But before we discuss the latest investments, a key development in the United Auto Workers (UAW) debate in the United States was reported this week. CNBC reported about legendary Henry Ford’s grandson in a story about “In rare move, Ford executive chair calls on UAW to make a deal and end ‘acrimonious’ talks”.

Henry Ford’s grandson is today’s Executive Chair of Ford, Bill Ford.

He was speaking at a high-profile auto industry event at the Rouge Visitor Center in Dearborn, Michigan, on 16 October 2023, where he stated Ford’s position on the stalled progress on negotiations between Ford and UAW.

His comments reverberated throughout the industry:
