Joe Biden: One and Done

In 2022, I wrote a short read titled, “Joe Biden: One and Done that I published on Amazon. I made my case and predicted in early 2022 that Joe Biden would be a one term president similarly to Jimmy Carter in 1980. Now, Biden will be compared to LBJ in 1968 who did not seek reelection due to the unpopularity of the Vietnam war. Biden’s approval rating is near his all-time low at thirty-six percent due to his age, inflation, and failure to secure the southern border with Mexico. It is unprecedented in U.S. history to see a sitting president change his mind from wanting the nomination to being pressured out by his own party not to seek a second term in the oval office only months from the November Presidential election. Biden endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris whose approval numbers are just slight better than Biden’s at thirty-nine percent. Her performance as Vice President has been awful with many wondering if she is competent to stay in her position while many see better alternatives for the Democratic party. You add RFK Jr. to the mix as strong independent contender and Trump’s chances are looking better each day especially after surviving an assassination attempt on July 13th. Joe Biden’s time in office has been tumultuous at best with his approval rating in the thirties appearing that the mid-term elections in November will be a red wave with Republicans most likely retaking the House and Senate and leaving Biden in his final two years as a lame duck president.
