Bellator 205: The Kid is Going Places

I was 50 percent with my picks last night.

The one fighter I knew was tough I should have picked to win and that was Vera Arteaga. She scored a second round submission over Denise Kielholtz.

Arteaga seems to be the fighter newer fighters get that are getting a promotional push and if the fight goes to a decision, she usually doesn’t get the nod.

Still, Kielholtz is newer to MMA and with her Kickboxing background should round out well in time if she keeps at it.

The one fight I knee would be good but was unsure of who would win was Pitbull vs. Roger Huerta. I have been a fan of Huerta since he was in the UFC and knew Pitbull had the power to finish him. However, I also knee Huerta would try to come back from anything that happened to him. He did try and fail but it still made for a great fight.

I can’t say enough about AJ Mckee. The second generation MMA fighter is certainly coming into his own. Much like the Gracie family, if it’s in the bloodline and they’re young, they’ll rack up the wins. Mckee’s first round knock out of John Macapa was spectacular and I think that kid will hold a title one day.
