UFC Sao Paulo Fights of Note — Did you see that fight?

Outside of Thales Leites retiring the card seemed underwhelming but the main event was pretty dramatic. Eryk Anders took the fight on short notice and made a valiant effort to win. I think, that Thiago Santos is starting to gain some traction with fans too after that one. His reach and striking seem to be getting him somewhere.

The only thing about UFC Brazil events is that it seems the cards go late and the cards seem to have a lot of trouble before fight night. Given MMA’s history with Brazil and jiu-jitsu it should be a regular stop but something should be done with the timing and from what I have heard from associates that have gone there for coverage, not many fans there can afford to go.

Still, lots of talent comes out of Brazil and last night showed that as well. Mayra Bueno Silva looked impressive in her first round finish and Andre Ewell had an impressive debut. This is that last UFC event before UFC 229 and UFC 230 should have a main event announcement soon since tickets go on sale this week.
