We’re big fans of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) around here, due to their support of continued education and professionalism among culinarians of all levels. We’ve also noticed many of our chef friends dabbling into beekeeping, kind of the ultimate farm-to-table sourcing.

If you’re already keeping bees, considering it, or if you’re just curious, ACF has published a guide called “Culinary Beekeeping for the Executive Chef” (click to download). It’s a free resource and ACF membership is not required to access it.

ACF also recently published an article in their magazine, Sizzle, featuring chefs who keep bees, harvest the honey, and make beautiful food and drink with it, all while helping to save the bees and the food sources they pollinate.

Not up for keeping bees, but want to learn more about using the golden elixir? The National Honey Board has an entire section of their website dedicated to foodservice professionals, with recipe ideas, trend reports, and even a section of free honey-based culinary resources you can order.

Want to get more involved with the American Culinary Federation? We have two chapters in Arkansas. Click the one nearest you to get more information! (Opens as an email to chapter leadership)
