Ah yes… the aria.

The aria token is a central piece of the architecture of the Arianee Protocol. It is the fuel that powers our ecosystem and allows the entire economy to run in a decentralized way. How does the aria do that? By aligning incentives in all transactions without the need for an intermediary. But in order for this decentralized economy to work, anybody should be able to freely purchase the token on an open exchange.

Two types of exchanges exist:

Centralized (CEX) and Decentralized (DEX).

According to Investopedia, an exchange is a marketplace where securities, commodities, derivatives and other financial instruments are traded. Two types of exchanges exist: Centralized (CEX) and Decentralized (DEX). While CEXs such as Binance, Coinbase and Kraken play an important role in the crypto ecosystem — particularly to on-ramp newcomers — DEXs such as Uniswap or SushiSwap are essential for the crypto ecosystem.

Why? Because only decentralized exchanges offer a free, intermediary-less market. It was only natural, therefore, that, when choosing on which exchange to first list the aria, we decided to list on a DEX.

This tutorial will walk you through the steps required to purchase ARIA20 on Uniswap; an awesome DEX running on Ethereum.

Before you start…

Before being able to perform a trade on Uniswap you will need to install a wallet to interact with the ethereum blockchain. This wallet takes the form of a browser extension. There are several options available, but we recommend using metamask with Google Chrome or Firefox. You can download the extension directly from metamask.io. Be careful to download the extension directly from the Metamask website to be sure you are installing authentic software.

Then, you will need to create a wallet in Metamask.

After you have created a wallet in Metamask, you will then need to add ether (ETH) to your wallet. Ether is the native crypto-currency of the Ethereum blockchain, to your wallet. It is important because ether will allow you to pay for your aria transaction. You can buy ether on a myriad of platforms such as transak, coinhouse or coinbase.

Once your Metamask account is funded with ether you can get started!

You can watch the video here or follow the detailed step by step below

Step 1

First go to aria.fyi and click on the bouncy Get Aria button at the top right.

Landing page at http://aria.fyi

Step 2

You will be sent to the Uniswap platform with the ETH/ARIA20 trading pair already preloaded. Click continue after reading the prompt.

The token's ticker symbol on Ethereum is ARIA20.

Step 3

Enter the amount of ether you want to trade. We used 0.1 ETH in this example. Then click swap!

Step 4

The metamask extension will then pop-up to ask you to confirm your transaction. It will display the amount of ETH you are trading as well as the transaction fee, also known as the Ethereum blockchain's “gas fee”.

Step 5

Wait for the confirmation notification letting you know that the transaction was confirmed on the Ethereum blockchain. This can take a few minutes in times of high congestion.

Step 6

Once the transaction is confirmed you should be able to see your Aria in the list of your assets. If you cannot see the asset, try adding the token to metamask using this link.

Step 7

And now you’re all set!

Congratulations on purchasing your first aria tokens! We are so glad to have a new arianaut in our community.
