The impact of COVID-19 goes far beyond the casualties, social distancing guidelines, and disrupted livelihoods. As a result of the pandemic, many of us are under stress. Though the lockdown measures help in flattening the curve, limited mobility as well as social separation are taking a toll on our gregarious nature. What could we possibly do? Well, now would be a good time to remember all the things you pushed aside earlier due to “lack of time”. Remember the hobbies and skillsets you wanted to build on. Remember the movies and shows you wanted to watch. Remember, the books you wanted to read. Remember the closet and albums you wanted to organize. Remember, the recipes you wanted to try. Remember the possibilities within your reach. Most of all, remember to make a positive choice to take responsibility for the health of ourselves and our family. Let’s remember to take care of ourselves and our loved ones.
Project RISE is an initiative to raise inclusivity, skills, and employment opportunities for students with disabilities. We will be organizing a webinar this month on becoming mentally strong in times of crisis like COVID-19 with a special focus on people with disabilities. Stay connected with us to find out more in the upcoming week!
