7 > Welcome to the Millers rollercoaster

This Rotherham United career looks like a raw diamond to me, I rarely played two seasons with the same club this year as very often an urgent sensation of boredom obliged me to stop playing, somehow things are going differently now and I’m strangely still interested in playing this savegame.

Anyway, there was a huge question floating around the New York stadium, could we survive in the EPL playing our odd 4–2–4 tactic based on short passing and a fluid shape?

I could hear the fans skepticism about that, so I believe our supporters should be happy to see we defied the odds once again, comfortably avoided relegation and finished the season sitting 12th in the table.

A good season for a small club with many young players who have still room to develop, the image below could better explain our stature in the league.

Everton won the league and the FA cup while Norwich, Swansea and Southampton went down, we had average runs in the cups, FA cup 5th rnd and League cup third round, something we should try to improve.

Game of the season, league champions dominated

Talking about the league we should fix our inability to make points far from home, only 3 wins and 13 losses on the road for us, a really poor record.

Our away games inconsistency was balanced by our good home form, we had convinving wins vs. Chelsea, league champions Everton, Manchester United and Tottenham, not a bad way to introduce ourselves to top flight football.

In January I added left wing back Jordan Lukaku (700k from Ostende) and Jamaican central defender Michael Hector (2.7 M from Chelsea) to the squad, both played well and showed to have decent potential for the future.

I have no doubt about our MVP this year cause new signing Conor Coady really emerged from the crowd: 32 apps, 6 goals, 4 assists, almost 4 tackles won per game playing as a box to box midfielder, already a fan favourite with many clubs interested.

…and the winner is…..Conor Coady!

Naturally there are negatives too, my strikers rarely scored, the best one, Diego Rubio, only scored 9 goals in 23 game played and my second best scorer is a winger, Georgiev, with 8, but I’m sure it’s not a tactical thing, more linked with my forwards skills, as I said before they’re still young and can improve but I could change something during the summer to upgrade my attacking line.
