There’s a ton of self-help guidance on the internet about attaining financial success. So much that it’s overwhelming at times and one has trouble knowing where to start. Should I google “how to get rich” or should I watch these hundreds of videos from self-proclaimed stock market gurus on YouTube?

I like to think of money almost as a drug. It can feel incredibly good and bring pleasure into your life…if you do it right. But if you’re using it to mask a weakness in other areas of your life, it can get dangerous. And at the worst catastrophic level, you can become an addict when you feel that no amount is ever enough to fulfill you.

For money is just one tool in our large arsenal — we’ve got our work ethic, mental agility, and relationships to help us throughout all the ups and downs of life. But unfortunately many people don’t realize just how important money is in today’s society. And the earlier one adopts and understands this important fact, the better one can be prepared to provide, produce, and progress through life.
