Something’s wrong when politicians are silent when self-professed “patriots” threaten our free press, talk of secession and civil war, attack our Capitol, and murder the innocent.
Something’s wrong when politicians make more money than teachers.
Something’s wrong when politicians speak of freedom and democracy but gerrymander, suppress the vote, stack the courts with unqualified idealogues, delegitimize our institutions, and try to overturn elections.
Something’s wrong when politicians have government-funded healthcare but work to ensure average families cannot.
Something’s wrong when politicians speak of liberty but invade the privacy our bedrooms and bathrooms.
Something’s wrong when politicians ban books, defund public schools, support theocracy, stoke fear and hate and attack a tiny minority population for political gain.
Something’s wrong when politicians speak of Christian and family values and then lie, cheat, and transfer billions into the pockets of the wealthiest while working families suffer.
Something's wrong when criminals become politicians and politicians protect criminal politicians for political gain.
Something’s wrong when politicians force little girls to bear their rapist’s child.
Something’s wrong when politicians speak of equality but want to decide who can marry and are fine with people getting fired for being who they are or getting paid less for the same work.
Something’s wrong when politicians do nothing while millions of Americans die of gun violence.
Something’s wrong when politicians watch our planet burn, infrastructure crumble, students get crushed by debt, and millions go underemployed while China invests billions into infrastructure, high-speed rail, clean energy, and education.
Something’s wrong when politicians play partisan politics and forget a strong middle class is the key to our national security.
