Tonic App just announced that Dr. François Sarkozy will be the new chairman of the Board of Directors. The French physician is now part of the fast-paced growing mobile medical app that originated and developed in Oporto.

Sarkozy, brother of the 23rd president of France, has worked in several large pharmaceutical and consulting companies and is the founder of an online channel promoting reliable and factual discussion about health — called “Tous Pour la Santé TV” (“All for Health” in English).

The co-founder and CEO of Tonic App, Daniela Seixas, feels “grateful to be working with Dr. Sarkozy. His experience in the healthcare industry is enormous, not only in the French market but throughout Europe. I am sure our work together will have a huge impact on Tonic App”.

Similarly, François Sarkozy, says he’s “excited and honored to join and chair the board of Tonic App at the cutting edge of eHealth. I am convinced that Tonic App will become the companion of healthcare professionals across Europe for even better patient management”.

The announcement follows the closing of the 3.5 million-euro investment round co-led by Armilar Venture Partners and Vesalius Biocapital Partners. Part of the capital raised will be used to expand to three of the five largest European healthcare markets: France, Spain and the United Kingdom. Read more about their plans and ambitions here.
