The City of Charlotte has been partnering with organizations to give you discounts throughout the year to various experiences. This past weekend, Team Charlotte attended Charlotte Night with the Charlotte Checkers.

A night with the Checkers

Employees and their families hit Bojangles’ Coliseum on Saturday to cheer the Charlotte Checkers to victory as they faced the Toronto Marlies.

Employees used a special link to order discounted tickets to bring their family members and enjoy a night of hockey with their coworkers. Employees at the game also received a free hat. There were additional opportunities to take pictures on the ice after the game or get tickets to future games. It was a fun time for all who attended.

“I have been looking for opportunities to learn about what the city has to offer. This was my first hockey game and a great experience as a city employee.” — Kevin Garcia, Charlotte Water

Since it was “Charlotte Night,” the Checkers wore special jerseys for the evening and employees who purchased tickets were put into a raffle for a t-shirt version of the jersey. Congrats to Theresa Lamia in General Services and Keven Garcia in Charlotte Water for winning the drawing!

Prize Pack

Hornets Discount

Employees also receive discounted tickets to see the Charlotte Hornets all season long. Save up to 30% off home game tickets. Prices will vary depending on seat selection and game.

On March 1, the Hornets will take on the Milwaukee Bucks. For this game, there are some special perks. Each ticket purchased for this game will come with a $10 concession credit. Also, there will be a special raffle for a prize pack for just city employees. The first 7,500 fans will get a Dwayne “Bacon” bobblehead.

Purchase tickets at groupmatics.events/group/Cityofcharlotte.
