Motivation is a fad
The ironic thing about working hard is that everybody acknowledges its importance yet very few people are able to structure their lifestyle to incorporate it.
The definition of “being busy” has been distorted massively over the past decade. The world was designed to make trivial things seem more important than they actually are.
As I write this, there’s a team of (talented) marketing experts working to determine the best way to make you feel that you absolutely need to use their new app, socialize with your friends round-the-clock, or watch that cat video.
Overcome the fickleness of your own mind, and stick to your principles not because you’re ‘motivated’, but because you’re ‘driven’. Motivation is elusive, discipline and drive is a constant.
Principles that only hold good on a clear day aren’t very good principles to begin with, anyway...
